President of Turkmenistan held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers

On October 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital means, where a number of public issues were discussed.

Mejlis Speaker Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported on the ongoing work to modernize national legislation. As reported, amendments and additions are currently being made to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Criminal Code, the Arbitration Procedure Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Criminal Executive Code, the Family Code, the Social Protection Code, and several other laws.

Acting Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov reported on the ongoing preparations for a scientific and practical conference marking the 32nd anniversary of the introduction of the national currency, the manat. The forum will be held on November 1.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on preparations for the XXX International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025." Over 70 foreign companies and approximately 30 local enterprises and private entrepreneurs have registered to participate in the exhibition. Approximately 1,390 delegates are expected to attend the accompanying conference.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhalliyev then reported on activities in the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the velayats. The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on preparations for the upcoming events to mark the Turkmen Alabai Festival, which will be held on the last Sunday of October.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atakhalliyev then reported on preparations for the Days of Turkmenistan's Economy in Frankfurt, Germany. Forum participants will be introduced to investment projects in the oil and gas and chemical industries, as well as the development of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, including the Arkadag Medical Cluster.

Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers Bahar Seyidova reported on the ongoing preparations for the Week "Permanent Neutrality – the Foundation of Friendship and Brotherhood," which will be held in the country's theaters to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. During the Week, scheduled for December of this year, theaters across the country are planning to present premieres of several new plays to our compatriots, along with previously staged performances of works by foreign classics.

Deputy Prime Minister Bayramgul Orazdurdyeva reported on the draft "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052" and the Resolution approving it. The strategy calls for improving the higher education management system in accordance with international standards and national experience, and implementing modern planning and management mechanisms that take into account demographic indicators, labor market development, and economic planning.

Then, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov noted that the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was successfully held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in August of this year. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister shared the good news that the "Avaza Political Declaration" resolution was unanimously adopted at the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, held on October 14 in New York.

Deputy Prime Minister Mammetkhan Chakyev reported on the measures being taken to strengthen the material and technical infrastructure of river transport. The Deputy Prime Minister presented a proposal to the head of state to strengthen the material and technical infrastructure of the Derýaýollary Open Joint-Stock Company.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov then warmly congratulated the members of the Cabinet of Ministers on the adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration.

A number of other state matters were also discussed at the meeting, and appropriate decisions were made.
