Conference Held in Beijing to Mark the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality

On October 16, a scientific and practical conference was held in Beijing to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's status of permanent neutrality. The event also focused on the outcomes of the recent Halk Maslahaty meeting and issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and China.

The conference opened with a welcome speech by Parakhat Durdyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China. He highlighted the importance of the policy of permanent neutrality and the friendly Turkmen-Chinese relations.

In their speeches, participants emphasized the significance of international initiatives put forward by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Special attention was given to the successful implementation of the policy of positive neutrality, which contributes to the strengthening of peace, the development of dialogue, and sustainable development both within the region and beyond.

Participants were also informed about the outcomes of the recent session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held in September of this year.

As part of the conference, information was presented about the upcoming International Forum scheduled to take place in December in Ashgabat. The event will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The conference also featured a large photo exhibition, a display of material cultural artifacts, and video presentations highlighting Turkmenistan’s achievements and successes over the years of independence.
