On February 21, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in our country on an official visit.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and conveying greetings from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as from the Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the UAE, and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the guest emphasized the UAE’s special attention to strengthening constructive cooperation with brotherly Turkmenistan.
Warmly welcoming the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and extending reciprocal greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the friendly state, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the great importance Turkmenistan places on high-level UAE delegations visiting the country.
As noted, the interstate dialogue, characterized by friendship and brotherhood, is based on principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutually beneficial partnership. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1995, and since then, Turkmenistan and the UAE have been steadily expanding cooperation in political and diplomatic affairs, trade and economic sectors, investments, energy, transportation and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields. Regarding political and diplomatic relations, they continue to strengthen through high-level visits and top-level negotiations.
In the context of bilateral trade and economic partnership, a steady increase in mutual trade turnover across various sectors has been observed in recent years. Notably, there is active cooperation in the energy, oil and gas, transportation, and agricultural sectors. Leading UAE companies are also involved in the implementation of major projects in Turkmenistan’s oil and gas, energy, and construction industries.
Speaking about multilateral dialogue, the parties acknowledged the role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality status and the UAE’s strategic objectives on the international stage in strengthening interstate relations.
As is known, following an initiative by Turkmenistan, the United Nations General Assembly has declared 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust."
— This decision, naturally, aligns with the 30th anniversary of the United Nations' recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality status, — said the head of state. He then presented an invitation to the upcoming international forum in Ashgabat on December 12 this year, expressing confidence that Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s participation in this major international event would make a significant contribution to further strengthening the friendly bilateral relations.
