From October 22 to 24, 2025, the capital city of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, will host the international conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025” (“OGT-2025”), one of the most significant events of the year in the country's energy sector. This international forum will bring together leading representatives of the global energy industry, heads of international financial institutions, research centers, government agencies, and major oil and gas companies for broad discussions on key issues in the global energy agenda.

The main goal of the conference is to widely promote the current state, opportunities, and development directions of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry at the international level, attract new investments, and open up new areas of cooperation. The event will not only highlight the achievements of the country's energy strategy but also affirm Turkmenistan’s confident position in the global energy market.

In recent years, Turkmenistan has implemented large-scale reforms in the oil and gas sector. Modern technologies are being introduced in hydrocarbon extraction, processing, and export to international markets. The industrial development of the "Galkynysh" gas field, the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) pipeline, and the launch of modern oil and gas processing plants are strengthening the country's economic potential. These initiatives contribute not only to national economic growth but also to regional and global energy security.

Turkmenistan currently ranks among the top countries in the world in terms of natural gas reserves. Comprehensive political, economic, and technological measures are being implemented at the state level to ensure the sustainable and efficient use of this wealth. Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, state programs in the country are paying special attention to digitalization of the energy sector, transition to green energy, and environmentally friendly production. This positions Turkmenistan as a country open to modern trends in the global energy landscape.

The “OGT-2025” international conference will offer broad opportunities to present these initiatives to the global community. During the various sessions, participants will discuss current trends in the modern energy market, new prospects for natural gas in international markets, the hydrogen economy, renewable energy sources, and energy security. Negotiations will also be held with partner country officials, investors, and representatives of international organizations on new economic cooperation projects.

Hosting this international forum will further increase foreign investors' interest in Turkmenistan’s energy market. Such events enable global companies to establish direct communication with the national energy sector and initiate joint projects. This, in turn, paves the way for the introduction of new technologies, digital solutions, and advanced expertise into the national economy.

Today, the energy sector serves as a key driver of Turkmenistan’s economic development. Revenues from hydrocarbon production and export not only enhance the country’s economic strength but also contribute to job creation and improved social welfare. State-led efforts in this area stimulate the growth of other sectors such as industry, transport and logistics, construction, and services.

The “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025” international conference is of not only economic, but also political and strategic importance. The forum clearly demonstrates the implementation of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy based on openness, cooperation, and peace. Through this event, Turkmenistan shows the international community that it uses its natural resources not only for economic gain but also for the broader goals of sustainable and mutually beneficial development.

Thus, the upcoming “OGT-2025” international conference in Ashgabat will mark a new stage in the country’s large-scale energy reforms, international cooperation, and economic growth. This important forum will further solidify Turkmenistan’s position in the global energy market and serve as clear evidence of the successful implementation of its strategy based on peace, sustainable development, and mutually beneficial partnership.
