On June 5, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the State Security Council, where the results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies of the country for January-May of this year were considered. The agenda also included issues of ensuring security and peace in our independent Fatherland, strengthening the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies, and further improving their activities.
The first to speak was Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the measures implemented during the period under review to strengthen the country's defense capability, improve the service and social conditions of military personnel, and introduce a digital system in accountable formations. At the same time, information was provided on the progress of conscription of citizens for military service, and the events held to patriotically educate young soldiers.
After hearing the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country emphasized that the focus of constant attention should be on the modernization of the National Army on a programmatic basis.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense to continue work to improve the material and social security of military personnel.
Then the heads of the military and law enforcement agencies reported on the results of the work done in the structures they supervised in January-May of this year, on the fulfillment of previously set tasks, the implementation of relevant programs, the improvement of structures, and the introduction of a digital system into their activities.
After hearing the reports, the head of state gave the heads of the relevant departments a number of instructions related to ensuring security and peace in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of the military and law enforcement agencies and further improving their activities.
Summing up the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that in accordance with the defensive Military Doctrine of Turkmenistan, measures are being taken to ensure the proper level of security and integrity of the independent, permanently neutral Fatherland, to strengthen its defense capability, and to improve the social and living conditions of the defenders of the Fatherland and their families.
A number of other issues were also considered at the meeting of the State Security Council, on which relevant decisions were made.
