ADNOC, a member of the consortium developing “Block 1” in the Caspian Sea, is a vivid example of Turkmenistan’s attractiveness and reliability as an energy partner. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Concern “Türkmennebit,” Guvanch Agajanov, at the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) office in Ashgabat. Agajanov recalled that thanks to the far-sighted initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a production sharing agreement for the offshore “Block 1” sector was signed in Ashgabat this year.

“This joint agreement is a symbol of trust and the strengthening of our partnership. ADNOC, participating in the consortium, is a vivid example of the attractiveness of Turkmenistan and our energy partnership, which is developing thanks to the wise leadership of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag. The opening of ADNOC’s office is a landmark event and a first step in strengthening our cooperation and implementing the goals of this agreement,” the head of the state concern said.

Guvanch Agajanov expressed confidence that the joint cooperation will achieve all the set objectives. These include field development, production of high-quality output, enhancing staff capacity, and ensuring safe and high-quality operations.

It should be recalled that on May 14, 2025, ADNOC signed a strategic production sharing agreement for the development of “Block 1” in the Caspian Sea with the State Concern “Türkmennebit” and Petronas.
