Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
Expressing deep gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to Hero-Arkadag.
Warmly welcoming the long-time friend of the Turkmen people to our ancient, hospitable land, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty conveyed sincere wishes of happiness, peace, and well-being to the Russian leader in return.
As noted, Turkmenistan is currently promoting positive initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development, recognized by the international community. Turkmen diplomats play an important role in the successful implementation of the country's foreign policy, which is based on mutual benefit, equality, goodwill, and peace.
It is also important to highlight the significant contribution of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, established in 2008 at the initiative of Hero-Arkadag.
It was noted that every year on February 18, Turkmenistan widely celebrates Diplomats’ Day. The meeting of Hero-Arkadag with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation on this significant date holds great importance.

Taking the opportunity, Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, sincerely congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, on Diplomats’ Day, noting that it was a great honor for him to visit Turkmenistan during the extensive celebrations of this professional holiday.
In turn, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov expressed sincere appreciation to Hero-Arkadag, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation for their congratulations and wished them great success.
It was noted that for many centuries, the peoples of our countries have maintained close and friendly ties, based on the similarity of cultures, languages, religions, traditions, mutual respect, and the principle of equality.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, emphasized that Turkmenistan highly values the development of relations with the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation. Regular high-level meetings and contacts directly contribute to constructive bilateral cooperation.
Over recent years, significant work has been done in the economic, political, and other fields, which has taken bilateral relations to a new level.
"Consistently expanding Turkmen-Tatarstan dialogue, we are taking effective measures in various spheres, achieving good results," noted Hero-Arkadag.
Vast opportunities for further development of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnerships are provided by the favorable investment climate in Turkmenistan and the growing international authority of our country as a reliable partner.
"We in Turkmenistan highly value our relations with the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation," emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people, noting with satisfaction that today bilateral cooperation is steadily expanding on the principles of good-neighborliness, friendship, and equality.
Interaction in the cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational, and sports spheres is also developing, which contributes to strengthening the Turkmen-Tatarstan dialogue.
Expressing gratitude for the care of Turkmen students studying in universities in Tatarstan, Hero-Arkadag confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to further expand cooperation in this area.
Noting that, in accordance with the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, initiated by Turkmenistan, 2025 has been declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust," the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty informed that on December 12 of this year, the capital of Turkmenistan will host a representative forum for the International Year of Peace and Trust, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Expressing great respect, Hero-Arkadag invited the guest to participate in the upcoming forum, expressing confidence that Rustam Minnikhanov's participation would make a significant contribution to the successful holding of this large-scale international event.
At the end of the meeting, expressing confidence that the current visit would also be another important step in the consistent strengthening of friendly Turkmen-Tatarstan relations, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, wished each other health and success in their responsible state activities, and peace, goodness, and prosperity to the brotherly peoples of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the high guest proceeded together to Ashgabat International Airport, from where the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan departed for his homeland.
