The third meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, from November 26 to 27, 2025. This meeting, attended by high-ranking officials and representatives of a number of government agencies and business circles from both countries, provided an opportunity to discuss strategic areas of bilateral relations.

The meeting was co-chaired by Nazar Agahanov, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar. Prior to the official meeting, the two ministers held a bilateral meeting to discuss future opportunities for expanding trade and economic ties.

The meeting's agenda included a wide range of issues related to political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Participants emphasized the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission in implementing previously reached agreements.

The Commission members thoroughly examined the development of bilateral relations in the trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, transport and logistics, oil and gas, industrial, agricultural, and water sectors, as well as investment and banking. They also analyzed the implementation of decisions from previous meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission.

During the meeting, a lively exchange of views took place on expanding cooperation in areas such as science and education, healthcare, sports, tourism, and environmental protection.

Following the meeting, the Protocol of the 3rd Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed.

As part of the Turkmen delegation's visit to Doha, a separate working meeting was also held between Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, and Mohammed bin Tuwar Al Kuwari, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar. At this meeting, ways to develop direct business contacts between entrepreneurs and business communities of the two countries were discussed.
