
On November 26, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing gratitude for the congratulatory message and good wishes on Azerbaijan's accession to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full participant.
"I am also grateful to you for the assistance of fraternal Turkmenistan in making this decision at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in Tashkent. I am confident that this decision, once again reaffirming the spirit of friendship and brotherhood inherent in our relations, will serve to strengthen cooperation and collaboration across a broad geographic area. "I highly appreciate your position that Azerbaijan's accession to the Consultative Meeting, as a state with significant political authority and economic power, is a historically significant event that will give impetus to the enhanced role of the Central Asian region on the global stage," the president of the friendly country noted.
"I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt congratulations on Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in 2026 and wish prosperity to your country and people.
I am grateful for your invitation to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State, which will be held next year in the new format of 'Central Asia and Azerbaijan.' I accept it with great pleasure. I am confident that the upcoming summit, chaired by a fraternal country, will contribute to the realization of the existing partnership potential of the Central Asian states, the sustainable and progressive development of the region as a whole, and will make a significant contribution to opening up new horizons for cooperation," the head of Azerbaijan emphasized.
Ilham Aliyev wished Hero Arkadag good health, happiness, and success in his public service, and peace, well-being, and prosperity to the fraternal people of Turkmenistan.
