The Institute of "Nebitgazylmytaslama" is a very important scientific research center for the successful implementation of state plans for oil production by the State Concern "Turkmennebit". The Institute has several laboratories, where important tasks are carried out, such as prospecting for oil deposits, finding them, and preparing design documents for new wells, monitoring well drilling, ensuring the smooth operation of oil and gas wells, and compiling scientific reports.

In order to maintain the stable production of individual fields, scientists and specialists of the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute maintain close relations with the enterprises of the State Concern "Turkmennebit". In order to increase the extraction of "black gold" from these deposits, side-column drilling in wells is being carried out on a large scale at the Goturdepe and Barsagelmez fields. In order to maintain stable oil production, work is also being carried out to repair the working layer, thermo-gas-chemically affect the layer, clean the working column of wells from paraffin, strengthen the bottom belt in sand-lifting wells, and wash sand plugs. In order to limit the formation water in wells with accumulated water, a sediment-forming chemical composition developed by the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute is being used, and major repair work is being successfully carried out. As a result of this work, the flow of formation water in wells is limited, and increased oil production is achieved. In wells operated by the gas-lift method, KGU-25 gas-lift valves developed by this institute are widely used. They ensure uninterrupted and long-term operation of wells of this type. In the fields, wells are used in such methods as jet, gas lift, rod-type deep wells, screw pumps, centrifugal electric pumps and ejector pumps. Seydek Kervenov, Director of the Laboratory for the Analysis of the Development of Oil and Gas Fields of the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute, spoke about cooperation with foreign companies: It should be noted that foreign companies are also working very productively in the fields of the Turkmennebit State Concern. Based on the technologies of the Singaporean company Yug-Neftegaz, work is carried out to limit the formation water, treat the wellhead with acid, perforate the stratum with hydraulic sand jetting, and wash the sand pack. The Russian Tatneft Public Joint Stock Company is primarily engaged in repairs related to the treatment of the wellhead with acid, and the transfer of oil-producing wells to a mechanized mode of operation. The wells transferred to a mechanized mode are automated and their operation is automatically controlled. The International Oil Services Company of the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC), which operates in the Goturdepe and Barsagelmez deposits, carries out major workovers of wells, as well as drilling of side columns in wells. It should be noted that in 2024, 63 percent of the total oil produced by the Turkmennebit State Concern fell to the share of large deposits. This year, work in this area is also being carried out rapidly.
