Turkmenistan's Fuel and Energy Complex Reviews 2024 Performance

On February 9, 2025, the Central Building of Turkmenistan’s Oil and Gas Complex hosted a reporting meeting dedicated to the results of the fuel and energy complex’s (FEC) activities in 2024, which was held under the motto "The Treasury of Wisdom – Magtymguly Pyragy."

During the event, discussions focused on the tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 7, where the outcomes of Turkmenistan’s socio-economic development in 2024 were reviewed. The meeting also examined further steps to advance efforts in this sector.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov emphasized that thanks to the attention and support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry is developing steadily, with continuous modernization of its material and technical base. The Vice Premier stressed the importance of effectively addressing the key objectives set for the country’s FEC.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" Guvanch Agajanov, the State Minister of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" Maksat Babaev, the Chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" Gurbangeldy Garlyyev, as well as heads of associations, departments, and enterprises of the oil and gas complex, presented reports on their work and discussed future tasks.

The speeches included data on oil production, gas condensate, and liquefied gas output, as well as on the development of cooperation with leading foreign companies, the introduction of digital technologies, the acceleration of work at the Galkynysh gas field, and the uninterrupted supply of natural gas to both domestic and foreign consumers. Steps towards achieving the objectives set for 2025 were also outlined.

During the meeting, Vice Premier Batyr Amanov emphasized the necessity of continuous monitoring of major ongoing projects in the sector, the integration of modern technologies, the fulfillment of production plans, and the involvement of young professionals in the workforce. He also outlined specific tasks for the State Concerns "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmennebit", as well as the State Corporation "Turkmengeology," wishing success in further advancing the oil and gas sector.

Ashyrguly Begliyev, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on Oil and Gas Affairs, highlighted priority areas for the future development of the FEC, including the exploration of new deposits, the implementation of innovative technologies in large-scale projects, the attraction of foreign investment, and the improvement of specialists’ qualifications.
