On October 3, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov presented a report to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the results of the Ministry’s activities over the past nine months of the current year.
It was noted that since the beginning of the year, the President of Turkmenistan has made working visits to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the United States of America, Japan, as well as a state visit to Mongolia.
During the same period, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, paid visits to the Principality of Monaco, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, France, Tatarstan, and Azerbaijan.
To participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in August this year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, Turkmenistan was visited by the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, São Tomé and Príncipe, Armenia, the King of Eswatini, and the Chairman of the Presidential Council of the State of Libya.
The dynamic development of cooperation with foreign partners was also evidenced by numerous visits to Turkmenistan by foreign delegations, as well as visits abroad by Turkmen delegations during the January–September period. A total of 433 online meetings of various levels were held. Additionally, 2,063 official negotiations and meetings with representatives of foreign countries and international organizations were organized in Turkmenistan. Since the beginning of the year, 134 new documents have been added to the legal and contractual framework of Turkmenistan’s international relations.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of consistently strengthening cooperation with countries around the world in trade, economy, culture, humanitarian affairs, science, and education, as well as developing relations with reputable international organizations.
Furthermore, the head of state signed decrees regarding personnel changes in the diplomatic corps.
