President of Turkmenistan and representatives of the US Congress highly praised the level of bilateral ties

During his working visit to the United States, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Bill Huizenga, Chairman of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Sidney Kai Kamlager-Dove, his deputy.

Warmly welcoming the distinguished guest, the representatives of the US Congress noted that the current visit of the President of Turkmenistan is intended to strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.

Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing cooperation with the United States in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that our country views cooperation with the US Congress as an important area for the development of bilateral relations. This interaction is aimed at exchanging legislative experience and discussing important issues on the regional and international agendas.

In recent years, Congressional representatives have visited Turkmenistan, and measures have been taken to expand interparliamentary cooperation, the head of state continued, expressing confidence that intensifying the established fruitful contacts between the legislative bodies of the two countries will promote mutual understanding and strengthen political ties.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged good wishes, expressing confidence that interstate relations based on trust and mutual understanding will continue to develop for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
