On October 10, the head of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, congratulated healthcare and medical industry workers on their professional holiday.
"Thirty years ago, on the initiative and under the leadership of Hero Arkadag, the State Program 'Saglyk' was adopted. And today, in the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state, we, in accordance with this document, continue to radically improve the national healthcare system, its material, technical, and legal framework. The measures being taken are large-scale and also aimed at improving health and increasing life expectancy for people, who are recognized as the highest value of society and the state, developing physical education and sports, and promoting the principles of a healthy lifestyle. By implementing the goals outlined in this area, we are consolidating the successes achieved.
Today, modern scientific, clinical, and diagnostic treatment centers, sanatoriums, health centers, and facilities producing medicines from local raw materials are being built across the country—in the capital, Arkadag, and in the regions—all equipped with cutting-edge equipment. We are thus writing glorious pages in the history of our independent Fatherland. The work being carried out in this area is exemplary and has been recognized by international organizations, including the World Health Organization. We also attach great importance to expanding scientific and medical cooperation in key areas such as exchanging experience through telemedicine, particularly teleconsultations, introducing the latest methods into applied medicine, and improving the qualifications of physicians,” the president noted.
“Today, thanks to the introduction of more modern treatment methods in the country, the population is now receiving virtually all the services available in global medicine. With the launch of the Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Management enterprise in Arkadag, the country has established the production of various medical products based on environmentally friendly local raw materials, which, I am confident, will eventually occupy a significant niche in global markets.
Domestic doctors are regularly sent to undergo advanced training at leading specialized centers in Europe and other countries. Close ties are also being established with renowned medical institutions and research centers, as is fully demonstrated by the traditional Turkmen-German Medical Forum.
The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care also does a great deal to fulfill its primary mission: caring for very young citizens in need of social support. The Foundation regularly allocates funds to cover the costs of various surgeries and treatments for young Turkmen citizens in capital and regional hospitals, as well as to purchase the necessary medical supplies. To date, hundreds of children in need of care have undergone surgeries and other therapeutic and diagnostic procedures using the Foundation's funds," the head of state emphasized.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished healthcare and medical industry workers good health, family well-being, and new achievements in the noble cause of protecting human health.
