On June 4, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of the work carried out in the country over the five months of this year were summed up.
The first to speak was the Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova , who informed about the activities being carried out to bring national legislation into line with the realities of the times.
As reported, in order to strengthen the legal foundations of the socio-economic reforms being implemented, 8 Laws of Turkmenistan were adopted in January-May of this year, including new legislative acts on improving the activities of judicial bodies and on accession to the relevant Protocol to the International Convention on Load Lines. Along with this, amendments and additions were made to the current codes regulating criminal, arbitration , civil and criminal procedure, family and labor relations, as well as to legislation related to taxes, jubilee medals, administrative proceedings, motor transport and migration. In addition, 10 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted.
Along with this, deputies and specialists of the Mejlis took part in 48 seminars on the modernization of legislative activity, organized by the relevant ministries and departments of the country together with authoritative structures. In order to study international experience, representatives of the national parliament went on 17 official trips. Summarizing the information, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the adopted laws should reflect the effective state policy being implemented, improving the well-being of the people. In this regard, the head of state emphasized the importance of developing new laws that are in demand by the times.
