
On November 21, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported at a government meeting on the draft Roadmap for regulating virtual assets and introducing mining technologies in Turkmenistan for 2026–2030. The document was developed on the instructions of the head of state and in accordance with the recommendations of the Hero-Arkadag.
As reported, the document provides for the establishment of legal, technological, and organizational foundations to ensure the reliable functioning of the digital asset market in the country. It also outlines specific implementation measures, sets deadlines, and identifies responsible authorities.
The Roadmap further defines areas related to studying international experience in this field, drafting relevant legislation, developing energy and communication infrastructure, attracting investments, and carrying out pilot projects. Special emphasis is placed on cybersecurity, improving energy efficiency, and training qualified specialists in this sector.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is carrying out targeted work to develop the digital economy and widely apply innovative technologies. Approving the proposal to introduce digital technologies into the economy, the head of state instructed the Vice-Premier to carry out the corresponding work.
