A specialized exhibition "Iran Agrofood" of the Islamic Republic of Iran is being held in Turkmenistan

On December 16, the Specialized Exhibition "Iran Agrofood" of the Islamic Republic of Iran opened in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which the Turkmen-Iranian business forum was also held.

At present, under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is consistently developing trade and economic cooperation with the countries of the region, with a special role assigned to its neighbor, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The exhibition, which has become an effective platform for further strengthening and expanding partnerships, identifying promising areas of cooperation, exchanging experiences, and establishing business relationships, serves as clear evidence of this.

Among the participants of the exhibition are representatives of Iran’s state and trade-industrial institutions, as well as around 60 companies specializing in agriculture, the food and processing industries, food packaging and storage, logistics, banking, trade, and services, among others.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads of ministries and industry departments, diplomats accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of international organizations, public associations, and the media.

In front of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, cultural and musical performances were held.

The attendees listened with great attention to the message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, addressed to the participants of the 16th Specialized Exhibition "Iran Agrofood" of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Turkmen-Iranian business forum.

As noted in the President’s message, Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as reliable partners, are consistently strengthening their productive and mutually beneficial cooperation. The centuries-old historical ties of friendship and brotherhood between the neighboring peoples have gained new meaning and are dynamically developing in all areas, including trade and economics.
The favorable conditions created in Turkmenistan for investments open significant opportunities for expanding Turkmen-Iranian business and trade cooperation.

In his address, the President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the exhibition and business forum would contribute to the further development of long-term cooperation between the business circles of the two countries in mutually beneficial areas.

The floor was then given to the Minister of Energy of Iran, Abbas Aliabadi, who noted that the exhibition is aimed at expanding intergovernmental cooperation, taking it to a qualitatively new level, and implementing joint trade and economic projects.

During the three days of the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of high-quality export products and services offered by Iranian companies specializing in agriculture, the food industry, and other development programs.

The exhibition begins with a pavilion of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan, which presents information on the development of cooperation between the two countries.

There are also stands of trade and industrial organizations from the Iranian provinces of Gorgan and Golestan, as well as the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, showcasing videos that highlight their multifaceted activities.

A significant part of the exhibition is dedicated to achievements in the food sector. Visitors were also impressed by the exquisite handicrafts, jewelry, and decorative products presented by the private enterprise "Sadeghi Trading Handicrafts".

Representatives of Iran’s logistics, processing, and banking sectors are also participating in the exhibition.

The exhibition’s presentation platforms served as venues for business meetings and negotiations aimed at revitalizing Turkmen-Iranian cooperation and establishing new mutually beneficial partnerships.

In the afternoon, the Turkmen-Iranian business forum took place, during which promising directions for Turkmen-Iranian cooperation were discussed, taking into account the existing trade and economic potential, particularly in trade, agriculture, and the food industry.

Special attention was given to strengthening business ties at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises. Such interaction is crucial for the dynamic development of Turkmenistan’s private sector.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants expressed their deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity to discuss the economic potential and prospects for Turkmen-Iranian cooperation.

On the second day of the exhibition, presentations of Iranian companies’ projects aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation will take place, and on the final day, there will be meetings between representatives of the private sectors of both countries and a ceremony to award diplomas to forum participants.
