Turkmenistan strengthens humanitarian cooperation in the CIS

The participation of the Turkmen delegation in the IV International Forum "Fashion Commonwealth", which took place in St. Petersburg on November 19-20 this year, became a vivid testament to the country's activity in the humanitarian sphere within the CIS. The delegation was led by Oguljahan Atabayeva, vice-president for medical work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for assistance to children in need of guardianship.

The goal of the Forum is to unite the efforts of states and charitable organizations to achieve noble goals, such as educating a physically and spiritually healthy generation, environmental education, and providing assistance to citizens in need. This humanitarian principle is fully consistent with the state policy of Turkmenistan, which prioritizes the protection of the social rights and interests of children.

The vice-president of the Charitable Foundation spoke at a session of the Forum called "Being healthy is fashionable." Oguljahan Atabayeva emphasized that health protection is an important issue for modern society and one of the key conditions for the development of the state and society. Information was presented on the State Program "Health" and the national strategy "Healthy mother - healthy child - healthy future," which have been implemented in Turkmenistan since 1995. She confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness for international cooperation and exchange of experience.

Oguljahan Atabayeva's trip to St. Petersburg was a continuation of the international activities of the Charitable Foundation for assistance to children in need of guardianship. Within the framework of the Forum, she held important meetings with Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Ekaterina Dibrova, President of the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for the Development of Biomedical Technologies, Diana Gurtskaya, First Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Social Partnership, Guardianship and Development of Inclusive Practices of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, as well as with Ekaterina Rogozhina, head of the "Georgin" Foundation for assistance to children with musculoskeletal disorders.

The working visit of Oguljahan Atabayeva, vice-president of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for assistance to children in need of guardianship, to St. Petersburg confirmed the importance Turkmenistan attaches to the humanitarian sphere and its commitment to expanding cooperation within the Commonwealth in anticipation of its CIS chairmanship in 2026. This visit became an important step in further strengthening Turkmen-Russian humanitarian cooperation and opened new opportunities for achieving joint goals in protecting children's health.
