On March 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system, during which the results of work performed in various sectors of the economy over the two months of the current year were summarized, and a number of other issues related to the country’s life were discussed.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, H. Geldimyradov, presented a report on macroeconomic indicators for the two months of the current year.
As reported, the adoption of comprehensive measures ensures the stable development of all sectors of the national economy and improves the population’s living standards. Thus, during the specified period, GDP grew by 6.3 percent, with the growth rate in industry reaching 1 percent, in construction – 2 percent, in the transport and communications sector – 11.1 percent, in trade – 9.9 percent, in agriculture – 3.3 percent, and in the services sector – 8.8 percent.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the overall volume of produced goods increased by 9.4 percent, with positive production indicators across all sectors.
Over the two months of the current year, retail trade turnover grew by 12.1 percent compared to the same period last year, while foreign trade turnover increased by 8.1 percent.
The revenue part of the State Budget was executed at 102.1 percent, and the expenditure part at 97.5 percent.
Wages at large and medium-sized enterprises across the country increased by 10.9 percent since the beginning of the year compared to the corresponding period in 2024. Salaries, pensions, state benefits, and student stipends were financed in a timely manner.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of capital investments utilized from all funding sources in January–February increased by 27.3 percent.
A report was also presented on the progress of the National Rural Program.
After listening to the report and emphasizing the need to carry out effective work to maintain high GDP growth rates and ensure the full implementation of production plans by ministries and sectoral agencies, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov issued a series of instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister in this regard.
