On July 16, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić-Radman. The heads of the foreign ministries discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further development of Turkmen-Croatian cooperation across a wide range of areas.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the positive experience of cooperation between the two countries on international platforms, primarily within the framework of the United Nations. In the context of efforts to ensure peace and security, both sides emphasized their commitment to cooperation within the OSCE.
They also thoroughly discussed the development of trade and economic relations. In this regard, the importance of the upcoming visit of the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs to Turkmenistan in October of this year was noted. During the same period, the fourth meeting of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation and an Economic Forum with the participation of business representatives from both countries will be held.
The discussion also touched on the preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3). The ministers further emphasized the significance of the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held on December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat.
