On 17 June 2025, the 176th session of the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) was held in Paris, bringing together delegations of member countries to discuss current issues related to the organization of international and specialized exhibitions.
The session was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the BIE Maksat Charyev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov, as well as the head of the exhibitions and fairs department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Kemal Amanov from the Turkmen side.
During the opening of the session, the agenda was approved, including the reports of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee, the Executive Committee, the Legal Committee, and the BIE Information and Communications Committee.
Special thanks to the Government of Turkmenistan were expressed by the President of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee Karen-Mae Hill, who highly appreciated the holding of the meeting of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the BIE, which was held in Ashgabat on 17-19 March 2025. She stressed that this meeting was a historic event, since for the first time in the history of the Bureau such a meeting was held outside of Paris.
During the session, reports were heard on the progress of preparations for upcoming international exhibitions.
In addition, the Turkmen delegation held a number of working meetings with representatives of BIE member countries and leadership.
At the end of the meeting, the date for the next session of the BIE General Assembly was approved.
