President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan, Ms. Rana Abu Hijleh , who presented her credentials to the head of state.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the diplomat noted that it was a great honor for her to represent her country in Turkmenistan, which had earned high international prestige with its peaceful policy, and, taking the opportunity, conveyed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag , and the head of state heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas.
Having warmly welcomed the Ambassador, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and wished him success in his activities to further develop bilateral relations.
Having conveyed his best wishes to the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, the head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan, guided in its foreign policy by the legal status of positive neutrality, attaches great importance to the development of constructive international cooperation. Strengthening interaction with the states of the Middle East is one of the priorities of our country's foreign policy.
As noted, political and diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine are built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust, including within the framework of authoritative international structures, primarily the United Nations.
During an interested exchange of views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations in the trade and economic sector, the parties noted the existence of great potential for their development. Among the promising areas, the export of products of the petrochemical and textile industries of Turkmenistan, the agricultural and processing industries, as well as various food products were identified.
Along with this, an important part of Turkmen -Palestinian relations is the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
“We will continue to support the holding of joint Days of Culture, educational exchanges, national exhibitions and conferences, which are important for bringing our peoples closer together,” the President of the country noted.
Taking into account the broad potential for cooperation in the designated areas, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider specific proposals and fruitful initiatives from the Palestinian side.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov , once again congratulating Ms. Rana Abu Hijlehi on the start of her work in Turkmenistan, wished her good health, well-being and success in her responsible diplomatic activities.
Expressing gratitude for the good wishes, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine assured the head of state that she would make every effort to further develop Palestinian-Turkmen relations.
