Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Held in Turkmenistan

On November 18, the Palace of Mukams at the State Cultural Center hosted the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan.

Cultural and humanitarian dialogue is a key component of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation. Regular joint cultural events play an essential role in this context. The current creative initiative is yet another testament to this collaboration.

The initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, aimed at popularizing the literary heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy worldwide, are being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

It is noteworthy that in celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, a special resolution was adopted in Uzbekistan. Moreover, Turkmen and Uzbek filmmakers have produced a feature film dedicated to the poet and thinker’s life and work. This is further evidence of the enriched and evolving relationship between the two nations, founded on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness.

The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture was attended by officials and representatives of relevant ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, accredited diplomats, media representatives, and members of the creative community.

As part of the event, the foyer of the Palace of Mukams hosted an exhibition of decorative and applied arts. The exhibit featured materials and works highlighting the traditions, culture, natural landmarks, and history of the neighboring nation.

Speakers at the ceremony emphasized achievements in the context of implementing a strategy for comprehensive humanitarian partnership, which fosters the mutual enrichment of cultures and arts, as well as the expansion of constructive ties in this field. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of the two friendly states. It was noted that this joint event, like previous ones, identified new directions for bilateral relations and served as a bridge for cultural dialogue.

Following the ceremony, a concert by Uzbekistan’s master artists took place, featuring musical and ethnographic dance performances. The creative expressions of the neighboring country’s artists left a vivid impression on the audience.

The concert program continued with a performance by an ensemble of musicians showcasing their skills in playing ancient Uzbek musical instruments.

Each performer was greeted with enthusiastic applause. Modern technologies accompanying the performances added a unique charm to the event.

As part of the Days of Culture, on November 19, the State Library of the State Cultural Center will host a meeting of writers from both countries dedicated to the works of the great poet and thinker of the East, Magtymguly Pyragy.

In the "Daşkent" amusement park in the capital, a concert by master artists from the neighboring state will be held, along with a showcase of Uzbek national costumes, dishes, and a display of decorative and applied arts from the Republic of Uzbekistan.
