On November 18, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and the heads of velayats, during which the dynamics of seasonal work in the regions, the development of the country’s agriculture, and the implementation of the National Rural Program were discussed.
The first report was presented by the hakim of Ahal Velayat, S. Soltanmyradov, who reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural campaigns.
As noted, the organized harvest of cotton grown by local farmers is ongoing, with a focus on collecting every last boll. Particular attention is being paid to the efficient use of agricultural machinery, the uninterrupted transportation of raw cotton to receiving stations, and its delivery to cotton-cleaning enterprises.
To successfully fulfill the President’s instructions aimed at strengthening food abundance in the country, wheat crops in the velayat are being maintained in accordance with agro-technical standards.
Additionally, preparatory plowing is underway for next year’s cotton crop as part of a systematic approach to ensuring a rich harvest.
The regional administration head reported on measures to maintain the proper functioning of heating systems at enterprises, institutions, schools, kindergartens, and residential and social facilities.
Information was also provided on the progress of construction of social and industrial infrastructure facilities, slated for completion this year under the National Rural Program.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the hakim to ensure all necessary measures for a loss-free cotton harvest and proper care for wheat crops in line with agro-technical requirements.
The President also emphasized the need to strictly control the quality and deadlines for the construction of facilities planned for completion this year under the National Rural Program.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev then reported on the overall dynamics of seasonal agricultural work in the country.
Efforts are being made in all velayats to complete the cotton harvest, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of raw cotton to receiving and cleaning facilities for processing.
Wheat fields are being irrigated and fertilized to ensure good yields. Preparatory plowing for next year’s cotton crop is ongoing.
In Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, rice harvesting is in full swing, while in Mary Velayat, the sugar beet harvest is progressing.
After hearing the report, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of adhering to quality and agro-technical standards in seasonal agricultural work, instructing the Deputy Chairman to ensure proper implementation.
The President further instructed the participants of the meeting to monitor cotton harvesting and ensure the effective use of machinery and infrastructure, including receiving stations and cleaning facilities.
The President highlighted the importance of timely care for wheat fields, including irrigation, weed control, and fertilization, in accordance with agro-technical standards.
Additional instructions were given to prepare fields for next year’s cotton planting, ensure prompt settlements with producers, and complete the rice and sugar beet harvests without losses.
In conclusion, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of implementing tasks outlined in the 2022–2028 State Program for Socio-Economic Development and the National Rural Program, urging timely and quality completion of planned work.
