On the eve of International Women’s Day, a ceremony to open sports competitions took place at the Multifunctional Sports Complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. The event, dedicated to the upcoming International Women’s Day, saw participation from students and faculty of the country’s higher education institutions. The sports competitions were launched under the motto “A Healthy and Inspired Woman is the Foundation of a Happy Family.”
As part of the competitions, young female athletes are vying for medals in five sports: classical tennis, table tennis, volleyball, basketball (3x3), and chess. The opening ceremony commenced with the performance of patriotic songs and continued with dance performances by renowned ensembles. Additionally, during the event, young female athletes showcased demonstration performances in various sports, including national wrestling, judo, gymnastics, handball, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, and figure skating.
These sports competitions, jointly organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Education, the Central Council of the Women’s Union, the Central Council of the Makhtumkuli Youth Organization, and the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, are already identifying talented participants. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader, Hero Arkadag, and the esteemed President, Hero Arkadag Serdar, the opportunities for Turkmen sports are expanding, with its prestige and fame spreading worldwide. These competitions, serving as a vivid example of such extensive opportunities, will continue until March 7. Female athletes who excel in the competitions and secure podium positions will be awarded by the organizers.
