The XXV Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World was held at the Centre of Public Organizations of Turkmenistan on September 14.

Representatives of Turkmen diasporas from a number of foreign countries, as well as delegates from all regions of Turkmenistan took part in the forum held on the eve of the country's main holiday - Independence Day.

This conference was a clear confirmation of Turkmenistan's support for close relations with our compatriots living in different countries of the world, as well as their active participation in large-scale events held in the ancestral homeland.

On the eve of the conference an exhibition of arts and crafts reflecting in all its glory the colour and versatility of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, its history and distinctive traditions.

Then the opening of the XXV Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World was announced.

Performance of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan marked the beginning of the solemn part of the Conference.

Then the agenda of the forum was unanimously approved, including the report on the work done and discussion of priority directions of further activities of GATM in the era of Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state.

The welcoming message of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent to the participants of the conference was read out.

Congratulating the participants of the forum on the 33rd anniversary of independence of neutral Turkmenistan, as well as on the start of the XXV Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World, the head of state expressed confidence that the conference held at a high organisational level on the eve of the main bank holidays - Independence Day of Turkmenistan - would increase pride for the native Motherland and be of great importance for uniting the Turkmens of the world and further intensifying friendly ties.

It was noted that the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World plays an important role in strengthening international ties, promoting the culture, unique customs and traditions, history, literature and language of the Turkmen people. The Association has become a prestigious organisation making great efforts to unite the Turkmens of the world. Much work is to be done to further strengthen brotherly relations, develop effective cooperation in the economic, cultural, scientific, educational, health and business spheres, especially to popularise the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of our people.

During the subsequent meeting, the delegates were briefed in detail on the large-scale social and economic programmes being successfully implemented to enhance the well-being of the people and international prestige of Turkmenistan, as well as major international projects being implemented by our country to further develop fruitful cooperation with the countries of the world.
