A meeting titled "The Role of Women in Strengthening the Foundations of the Family" took place at the Center of Public Organizations in the capital, jointly organized by the Central Council of the Turkmenistan Women's Union and the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan. The event, timed to coincide with International Women's Day, brought together active and prominent women from our country and the fraternal state. As part of the event, which complemented the significant occasions of the Year of International Peace and Trust, the main areas of bilateral exchange of views included the sanctity of the family, child upbringing, and the role of women in the political and public life of the state.
The historical depth of Turkmen-Iranian friendly and fraternal relations is well-known to all. Today's meeting once again reaffirmed this fact. Within its framework, an exhibition was organized featuring the works of skilled women from the two friendly nations, including their drawings, photographs, and national treasures. Participants of the meeting showed great interest in the exhibits, asking questions and exchanging answers. Specialists from the Cultural Center of the neighboring country’s embassy in Turkmenistan spoke about traditional patterns applied by Iranian women to copper and precious stone utensils, as well as works of art.
The meeting then continued with discussions and consultations on the themes: "Peace and Trust — A Fundamental Principle," "Child Upbringing — The Foundation of a Bright Future," and "Women Entrepreneurs in Economic Development." The event was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, who expressed great joy that women from the two friendly nations had gathered together to discuss such important issues as the sanctity of the family and child upbringing. The Ambassador wholeheartedly congratulated Turkmen women on International Women's Day, wishing them great success. During the meeting, the head of the Cultural Center of the friendly country’s embassy in Turkmenistan, Ibrahim Parviz, also delivered an inspiring speech:
"The most important quality of a woman in the family is her kindness and pure soul. Women are the embodiment of God’s beauty and mercy. They hold an equal place alongside men in building a healthy society, fostering personal development, and achieving perfection."
Child upbringing became one of the key topics of discussion during the meeting, which was filled with high spirits and a free exchange of opinions. Active members of the Central Council of the Turkmenistan Women's Union shared with the guests interesting information about the noble traditions and customs of the Turkmen people in raising children.
A member of the Tehran University administration and representative of its women, family, and media sector, Maleki Farab Neda Hafez, expressed scientifically grounded and practical perspectives on the topic under discussion. She highly praised the contributions of Turkmen women to efforts aimed at the prosperity of the state and emphasized that women in the Islamic Republic of Iran also actively participate in political and public life. She spoke about the nuances of the bond between mother and child.
The meeting also featured a speech by the chairwoman of the women's committee of Mashhad, a representative of women entrepreneurs, and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Salimi Fateme Hossein.
"Half of the human potential in any society consists of women; in society, men and women are like the two wings of a bird," the guest noted. She discussed the measures being taken in the fraternal country to ensure gender equality, strengthen women’s rights, and support them.
During the meeting with journalists, the guests reported that International Women's Day is not officially celebrated in the Islamic Republic of Iran, but holidays such as Mothers' Day and Family Day are observed. They also noted that in lullabies called "Lalay," the poetry of Magtymguly and Ferdowsi is widely used, reflecting the great respect for the creative legacy of Magtymguly Fragi in the fraternal country.
