The XXX International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — 2025" (OGT 2025) is being held at the building of the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the organization of the state concerns "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmennebit." This important event is organized to discuss current challenges and future opportunities in the energy sector, as well as to contribute to the sustainable development of the country’s oil and gas industry.

The main goal of the conference is to increase the capacity of the country's fuel and energy complex, strengthen strategic cooperation, and introduce new oil and gas projects. The forum extensively discusses the significance of Turkmenistan’s abundant natural gas reserves and ongoing efforts to transform the country into an energy hub of the region. Representatives from dozens of countries worldwide participate in this forum, promoting expanded cooperation.

Turkmenistan’s economic strategy focuses not only on raw material exports but also on developing the production of petrochemical products with high added value, as well as environmentally friendly energy systems. The state, together with foreign partners, is accelerating work on diversifying export routes, developing the processing industry, and creating modern energy and chemical clusters.

To expand the export potential of the fuel and energy complex, active work is underway to improve the reliability of existing pipelines, implement liquefied gas production projects, and develop regional energy corridors. These projects play a vital role in ensuring the region’s energy security and strengthening economic cooperation.

Special attention is paid to the development of Turkmenistan’s petrochemical industry. Large investments are being attracted for the production of ammonia, mineral fertilizers, polymers, and other high value-added products. These objectives contribute to the growth of domestic production, job creation, and the adoption of foreign technologies.

Digitalization and the broad implementation of innovative technologies also play a significant role in the development of the oil and gas sector. New training centers are being established to improve the skills of industry workers, and experience exchange programs are being carried out within the framework of international cooperation. Thus, the oil and gas complex regularly familiarizes itself with advanced global technologies.

At the forum, representatives of government bodies, international organizations, and oil and gas industry experts discussed opportunities, future projects, and Turkmenistan’s role in the region in detail. As noted in the congratulatory message from the President of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, as well as the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, are of great importance for ensuring the region’s energy security and developing energy cooperation.

The exhibition features technologies from leading global companies as well as works by Turkmen entrepreneurs in the oil and gas, logistics, and service sectors. For example, China’s CNPC, Italy’s Eni, Baker Hughes, Japan’s Sumitomo, ADNOC from Abu Dhabi, and other international partners showcased their innovative solutions and joint projects.

The forum’s plenary sessions covered comprehensive topics including innovation, energy transition, environmental protection, and carbon emissions reduction. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding export routes for Turkmenistan’s natural gas and modernizing the energy and petrochemical industries. Important tasks also included the implementation of digital systems and technological innovations in the oil and gas sector.

Turkmenistan’s rich natural gas reserves not only form the foundation of the country’s energy security but also make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the region. These opportunities foster expanded international cooperation, attract new investments, and support the development of technological partnerships.

Thus, major projects in the oil and gas sector, the introduction of modern technologies, and the expansion of transport and logistics capabilities provide a strong impetus for the development of various sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy. This forum demonstrates the successful implementation of the country’s energy strategy and the effectiveness of efforts aimed at sustainable development and transforming the region into an energy hub.
