Currently, large-scale work is underway in Turkmenistan to ensure the optimal use of the processing sector in order to more effective realize the potential of the oil and gas industry, increase natural resources, expand the range of high-quality, competitive products that are in high demand in the foreign and domestic markets. To ensure high rates of implementation of large-scale projects, the modernization of the infrastructure of the oil and gas industry based on advanced technologies is of key importance, where special attention is paid to the environmental friendliness factor, increasing production capacities, and diversifying export routes for “blue fuel” supplies.
Strengthening the resource base of the complex is the main condition for the diversification of the oil and gas industry in our country. The Turkmen leader stated this during a recent working trip to the Mary and Lebap velayats. The exploration and development of new oil and gas fields, as well as the increase in production rates, are largely dependent on research conducted by industry specialists. During the working visit, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting at which issues related to the implementation of the tasks outlined in the Development Program of the country's oil and gas industry until 2030, the modernization of the Malay field, and the growth of its production capacity were considered.
During the meeting, the director of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern "Turkmengas" through drawings and diagrams informed about the ongoing research work to increase the productivity of natural gas fields, the results of exploration and the identification of new wells.
As noted, the new discovered fields in the Mary and Lebap velayats are expected to have significant reserves of natural gas. At the same time, the gas produced in the upper layers of the Turkmen land is recognized as meeting high international standards and is considered the most environmentally friendly, which causes an increased interest in Turkmen natural gas in world markets.
As the Leader of the Nation noted, as a result of the industrial development of newly discovered gas fields, the volume of the country's gas resources will increase by 126 billion cubic meters.
The head of state stressed that after processing, natural gas is widely used in the production of many types of household and construction goods.
Turkmenistan occupies a leading position in the world in terms of natural gas reserves. At present, our country is one of the main suppliers of "blue fuel" in the Central Asian region. Thanks to its advantageous geopolitical location and significant hydrocarbon reserves, our country has a huge potential to increase gas exports to the markets of Europe, Asia and other regions.
Today, Turkmenistan has established productive ties with dozens of countries of the world, large foreign companies with solid experience and advanced technologies, as well as with financial structures and international organizations. The fundamental principles of this partnership are the economic efficiency of joint projects, their social significance and environmental safety.
An illustrative example of this is the positive experience of many years of joint work of Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China in the fuel and energy sector, large-scale projects aimed at expanding the geography of routes for the supply of Turkmen "blue fuel" to foreign consumers, strengthening the export potential of the gas industry.
In accordance with the comprehensive strategy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at diversifying the national economic complex, increasing production volumes and expanding the range of products manufactured in the country, new large industrial enterprises specializing in deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials have been built and put into operation in recent years.
The main directions for the implementation of fundamental changes in the fuel and energy sector are the effective use of the potential of the oil and gas industry and the fundamental modernization of infrastructure.
Cooperation in the energy sector is seen as a key condition for overall well-being, progress and prosperity. In this regard, over the past few years, Turkmenistan, as a country with one of the largest energy potentials in the world, has been conducting purposeful international activities, focusing the attention of the world community on energy security issues.
As the President of Turkmenistan noted, at the moment, the domestic fuel and energy complex faces three main tasks: the industrialization of the oil and gas complex, providing the citizens of the country with the necessary products and increasing the export potential of the industry. Based on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, the scientists of the Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern "Turkmengas" are entrusted with great tasks in achieving the goals set, as well as in the implementation of the President's programs. Our goal is to work tirelessly to justify the high trust placed in us, using the favorable conditions created in the era of the power and happiness of our sovereign state.
