Meeting with newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Turkmenistan held

On 12 September, on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Speaker of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Turkmenistan Jozsef Rozsa.

On behalf of the head of state, the head of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post and wished him fruitful work in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.

Expressing deep gratitude for the hospitable reception on the Turkmen land, the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly state conveyed warm words of greetings from the President of Hungary Tamás Szujok, who addressed sincere wishes of happiness, peace and prosperity to the top leadership and people of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the diplomat was familiarised in detail with the constructive foreign policy course pursued by independent neutral Turkmenistan, which is built on the principles of peacefulness and broad international cooperation in the interests of all.

As it was noted, the focus on establishing a trusting dialogue with the European Union countries predetermined the progressive development of Turkmen-Hungarian relations both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including in the platforms of major international organizations and structures, in particular the UN.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis also drew attention to the priorities of the state policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which has a pronounced social orientation. All large-scale projects of national and international significance implemented in the new era of the powerful state that have earned Turkmenistan high international prestige are aimed at ensuring a decent and prosperous life for the people.

During the detailed exchange of views on the current state and prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation, the sides noted their interest in further diversification of partnership in a number of key areas, including trade and economic sphere, health care, agriculture, etc. The sides stressed the importance of cooperation in the economic sphere.

The sides stressed the importance of intensifying inter-parliamentary and cultural-humanitarian ties, which serve mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Turkmenistan Jozsef Rozsa thanked for the detailed conversation and assured that he would make every effort to strengthen and expand the established interstate relations, traditionally built on a trusting and mutually respectful basis.
