President of Turkmenistan Held a Regular Meeting of the State Security Council

On July 2nd, The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held another meeting of the State Security Council, at which the results of the work of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies over the first six months of the current year were reviewed. The agenda also included issues related to ensuring security and peace in the independent Motherland, strengthening the material and technical base of the security forces, and further improving their activities.

The first to speak was the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the measures taken in the first half of 2025 to successfully implement the Development Program of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and to strengthen the country’s defense capability. A report was also presented on the results of the spring conscription campaign and ongoing efforts to improve the service and social conditions of military personnel.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of further modernization of the country’s Armed Forces in accordance with Turkmenistan’s defensive Military Doctrine and modern requirements.

Focusing on the need to begin preparations for a military parade dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Motherland’s independence, the head of state instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense to take measures to hold the ceremonial review at a high level.

Next, the heads of the military and law enforcement agencies reported on the results of their work for the six months of the current year within their respective structures, on the fulfillment of previously given instructions and relevant programs, and on measures being taken to improve the work of these structures and implement digital technologies within them.

After listening to the reports, the head of state gave specific instructions and directives to the respective leaders regarding ensuring security and tranquility in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of the military and law enforcement agencies, and further improving their activities.

Addressing the members of the State Security Council, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that, according to Turkmenistan’s Military Doctrine, which has a strictly defensive character, measures are being taken to maintain a high level of military security and integrity of the independent, permanently neutral Motherland, consistent strengthening of the country’s defense capability, and improving the social and living conditions of the defenders of the Fatherland and their families. At the same time, it was emphasized that work in this direction will continue in the future.

The meeting of the State Security Council also considered a number of other issues, on which relevant decisions were made.
