The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation have signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement aimed at improving the reliability and continuity of the country’s power supply.
The agreement covers a project for the supply of specialized equipment designed to prevent ice formation on overhead power transmission lines (PTLs). Icing on power lines is a serious challenge for energy systems in regions with variable climatic conditions, often leading to breakdowns and outages.
This partnership with a leading Japanese conglomerate underscores the priority Turkmenistan places on systematically strengthening the material and technical base of its energy sector and introducing advanced technologies to ensure reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply for domestic consumers.
