The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was signed in June 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro to prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. The Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has been held annually since 1995. The main purpose of the global summit is to assess progress in the fight against climate change worldwide. At the sessions held in 2011-2015, the most important international document in the fight against climate change, adopted in 2015 in France and called the Paris Agreement, was discussed. To date, 195 countries have joined this agreement, including Turkmenistan.
