Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are increasing parliamentary cooperation

On August 20, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan Aymurad Gochmyradov met with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda.

The interlocutors discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, emphasizing that it is consistently expanding thanks to the creative initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The parties also noted the successful holding of the UN International Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the Avaza tourist zone, which has become an important international platform for discussing current development issues. The Turkmen side expressed sincere gratitude for the active and meaningful participation of Tajik parliamentarians in the conference, including in the Parliamentary Forum, which served as an important contribution to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and deepening bilateral ties.

It was emphasized that the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation allows for the exchange of experience, the development of agreed positions on pressing regional and international issues, and the support of each other's constructive initiatives in the international arena.
