On January 7, 2025, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov.
The parties emphasized the significance of the meeting at the beginning of the year, which was declared by Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust during the 63rd plenary session of the 78th United Nations General Assembly on March 21, 2024.
In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan intends to cooperate with international partners to organize events in line with the spirit of the International Year of Peace and Trust, particularly with Uzbekistan.
Additionally, there was an exchange of views on further development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
