On February 22, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to Arkadag, a city built based on the "smart city" concept, combining national architectural principles with advanced innovations. Here, Hero-Arkadag reviewed projects for facilities planned for construction within the new city. Additionally, Hero-Arkadag held a working meeting with relevant officials and blessed the launch of the modernization of the city's communication infrastructure.
From the very beginning, the International Year of Peace and Trust has been filled with significant events for our country. It is worth noting that the new city, initiated and continuously developed thanks to the tireless efforts of Hero-Arkadag, is confidently advancing towards new heights of progress. As in all economic sectors, construction work in Arkadag City fully meets the demands of the modern era.
Early in the morning, Hero-Arkadag arrived in the new city. Here, the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of the City, G. Mammedova, reported on the ongoing work in the city, the equipment of planned facilities, as well as the types of benches and other structures to be installed in park areas.
After reviewing the bench designs for the planned park in the new city, Hero-Arkadag noted that they should meet modern comfort requirements. Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that the park’s central structures, trees, and fountains should form a harmonious ensemble, creating unforgettable impressions for children.
The Honored Architect of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, reviewed the blueprints of social facilities planned for construction as part of the second phase of the city's development, as well as samples of finishing materials.
Hero-Arkadag was presented with marble samples for the facade decoration of the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex. Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the design of the building should harmonize with the natural landscape of the area. He also reviewed different saplings planned for planting along the roads from Akhan Avenue to the "Taýçanak" roundabout.
Hero-Arkadag emphasized the importance of selecting tree species suitable for the local soil and climate conditions, as well as equipping roadside parking areas with innovative technologies. Stressing the need to adopt modern best practices and scientific advancements, he gave several instructions to the relevant officials.
The construction of facilities within the Cultural and Entertainment Center in the new city should align with national principles. Special attention should be given to both the external and internal design, the selection of saplings, and the construction of a drainage system in accordance with modern standards.
Highlighting the necessity of designating special areas within the center for traditional Turkmen games, Hero-Arkadag stressed that all necessary conditions should be created for these activities, including "aşyk," "çilik," "düzzüm," and "aýterek-günterek." These games, developed by the Turkmen people throughout history, play an important role in shaping young minds and fostering qualities such as unity.
In this context, the importance of high-quality construction, timely completion, and proper equipping of buildings and structures was emphasized.
Hero-Arkadag then held a working meeting with the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of Arkadag, G. Mammedova.
D. Orazov reported on the current progress of the second phase of the city's construction, as well as measures being taken to determine the locations of planned facilities and ensure the organized start of construction. As part of the report, Hero-Arkadag received detailed information about the pace of construction of industrial complexes within the medical cluster of the city's second development phase.
The Honored Architect of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, underscored the importance of maintaining high-quality standards in the construction of industrial buildings and ensuring their timely commissioning. Particular emphasis was placed on the efficient use of local raw materials and construction practices. At the same time, all aspects of construction must be carefully considered.
Hero-Arkadag issued several directives to accelerate the pace of work within the second phase of Arkadag City's construction. Specifically, close supervision should be maintained over the construction and equipment of facilities within the city’s medical cluster.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Arkadag, G. Mammedova, reported on the process of settling residents into modern homes, preparations for upcoming national celebrations, and the organization of cultural and public events.
On behalf of all women in the new city, the Mayor expressed gratitude to Arkadagly Hero Serdar for signing, during the February 21 Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the document approving financial gifts for women and girls across the country in honor of International Women's Day. It was also announced that, in celebration of the holiday, large families in Arkadag City would receive keys to modern, comfortable apartments.
As part of the report, and considering numerous requests from city residents and public organizations, the Mayor proposed naming the road from the "Polatly" monument to the "Taýçanak" roundabout after the master horse trainer Aba Annaev.
Hero-Arkadag noted that celebrations in the new city, built with cutting-edge technologies, should reflect the spirit of modernity. The happy life of the Turkmen people and the country's achievements in all areas should be showcased in cultural events.
Hero-Arkadag emphasized that thorough preparations should be made for the inauguration ceremony of the road from the "Polatly" monument to the "Taýçanak" monument. It was mentioned that the proposal to name the new road after Aba Annaev should be submitted for consideration by the Halk Maslahaty.
Later, Hero-Arkadag arrived at the Arkadag City Communications Department. Here, the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakyyev, reported on the implementation of modern digital technologies within the department.
Firstly, the projects for the city's railway and bus stations were presented. It was noted that the railway station in the new city would be built according to modern requirements and global best practices. The entire system’s management and operation control would be based on innovative technologies.
Additionally, the construction and interior and exterior finishing of the new Arkadag City bus station would be carried out in line with advanced architectural practices. Special attention would be given to the unique exterior of the complex’s main building, its decorative elements, and the creation of comfortable conditions for passengers.
As part of the report, information was provided about solar panels to be installed at the city’s railway and bus stations. These solar panels will be funded by a grant from the Asian Development Bank and will be implemented in collaboration with specialists from the "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" agency. The solar panels will continuously supply the station’s management and lighting systems with the necessary electricity.
Hero-Arkadag stressed that the construction and finishing of buildings should integrate national architectural principles with advanced practices. Ensuring high construction quality, durability, and longevity of building materials is crucial. Landscaping around buildings and strict adherence to environmental regulations were also defined as key priorities.
He emphasized the importance of the quality of the solar panels installed in the buildings, their compliance with modern standards, and their high capacity, noting that scientific advancements and global best practices should guide this work. In particular, keeping pace with the times is a critical goal in the transport and communications sector.
The General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakyyev, requested Hero-Arkadag’s blessing to launch the 4G+ high-speed internet service in Arkadag City.
