On December 16, the Turkmen-American Business Forum was held in the capital. A delegation of American business representatives, led by Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council, arrived in our country to participate in the event.
As noted by the Turkmen side, the visit of the head of the joint Business Council to Turkmenistan is seen as a means of expanding productive cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
In the speeches of the participants, it was emphasized that Turkmen-American relations are traditionally friendly and are developing on a consistent basis, taking into account the principles of equality, mutual respect, and benefit. Both sides expressed their readiness to enhance multifaceted and effective cooperation, including in trade, investments, and business relations. In this regard, the important role of the Turkmen-American Business Council was highlighted.
It was noted that Turkmenistan, which is implementing a strategy of economic development through diversification and the active adoption of the best global practices and advanced technologies, is open to effective cooperation and supports the efforts of U.S. business circles to strengthen their presence in the Turkmen market.
A favorable investment climate and organizational-legal mechanisms for doing business have been created in our country. This contributes to attracting an increasing number of foreign partners to work in the promising Turkmen market.
Speaking about the strong interest of leading American companies in expanding multifaceted cooperation, the guests confirmed their intention to participate in the implementation of large-scale state programs aimed at benefiting the peoples of Central Asia and strengthening peace and trust globally.
It was noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, significant experience has been accumulated in joint activities. Companies such as John Deere, Case, General Electric, Boeing, and others are successfully operating in strategically important sectors of our country’s economy.
The role of the Turkmen-American Business Council in strengthening long-term and mutually beneficial economic relations was discussed separately. It was emphasized that regular business meetings, forums, and exhibitions organized by the Council contribute to establishing close ties between the public and private sectors of the two countries.
Among the priority areas of cooperation are trade and investment activities in the supply of equipment for industry, agriculture, and water management.
There are also significant prospects in the fields of fuel and energy, transport and communications, construction, innovative technologies, healthcare, ecology, and other sectors.
The participants of the Turkmen-American Business Forum exchanged views on opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors of the economy, investment, and high technologies, as well as on expanding trade turnover between the two countries. Specific plans for cooperation in priority areas were outlined.
Furthermore, as part of the forum, meetings were held between representatives of relevant ministries, departments, and private companies with American business representatives. During these meetings, plans for further development of bilateral relations were discussed.
