At the XXX International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025”, Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), delivered a speech highlighting the strong relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, noting that they have entered a new phase of cooperation.
The head of SOCAR emphasized the significant role of Turkmen gas in the global energy landscape. Rovshan Najaf confirmed that SOCAR is actively cooperating with Turkmenistan’s state concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit. He also recalled that SOCAR opened its representative office in Turkmenistan two years ago.
Addressing current global challenges, the SOCAR President stated that the world is at a “crossroads of transformation” associated with the transition to clean energy sources. In this context, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan is of particular importance, as both countries possess vast gas reserves. Rovshan Najaf stressed the importance of diversifying supply routes and noted that the joint efforts of the two states make a significant contribution to regional economic growth and strengthen energy security.
