Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met on Monday with a delegation of US businessmen who arrived in Ashgabat to attend the Turkmen-American business forum.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart, the head of Nicklaus Companies John Reese, the chairman of UGT Renewables Goran Raisic, the CEO and founder of Climate Compass Kevin James.
The head of state and guests from the United States exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation and prospects for the development of the Turkmen market, trade and investment partnership.
During the meeting, the importance of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council in unlocking the potential of bilateral economic dialogue was noted. In this regard, the head of Turkmenistan thanked Eric Stewart for many years of activity as the head of this structure.
Welcoming the entry into the Business Council of UGT Renewables, which specializes in solar energy, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, which has embarked on a green economy and the development of renewable energy sources, is ready to establish partnerships in this area.
The President also stressed that Turkmenistan, being a major supplier of energy resources, aims to modernize and decarbonize the oil and gas industry. There are opportunities in this industry to interact with US companies such as Climate Compass.
In turn, US businessmen confirmed their desire to strengthen their positions in the promising Turkmen market and to participate in the implementation of new joint projects.
Welcoming this intention of the US business circles, the head of state stressed that Turkmenistan, which implements an economic policy focused on the active introduction of innovations, attraction of the best world experience and advanced technologies, is always open for constructive interaction.
