On December 14, the Day of Workers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology was celebrated on a grand scale across the country. A festive event was held in the conference hall of the main building of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex to mark the occasion.
Participants of the event listened attentively to the congratulatory address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the workers of this sector.
In his message, Arkadagly Hero Serdar noted that the diligent work of oil and gas professionals, as well as geologists, has led to significant achievements in the oil and gas sector of the economy. Thanks to comprehensive efforts in this industry, Turkmenistan's position among the world’s leading countries in terms of hydrocarbon reserves has been strengthened.
By implementing major international projects in this area, Turkmenistan faces important tasks, primarily the use of hydrocarbon resources to ensure the well-being of its people and neighboring nations and to serve future generations.
On December 14, 2009, under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, the Turkmenistan–China international gas pipeline was inaugurated and began supplying Turkmen "blue fuel" to the rapidly developing region in the East. It is highly symbolic that this date, inscribed in gold in the country’s annals, was declared the Day of Workers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology, as emphasized in the President's address.
Speakers at the event noted the growing number of countries expressing interest in Turkmenistan's energy resources. Renowned global companies and financial organizations seek to establish partnerships in this sector. Turkmenistan's strategy for diversifying natural gas exports is based on increasing hydrocarbon production capabilities. Great attention is also given to processing natural gas and producing goods in high demand on the global market. In line with this, modern gas-chemical complexes are being constructed and commissioned.
Participants highlighted that, according to the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028" and the "National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052: Revival of the New Era of a Powerful State," comprehensive measures are being taken to further enhance production efficiency. The recent discovery of a new commercially significant natural gas inflow at the "Galkynyş" field and the successful development of other oil and gas fields in the country serve as clear evidence of the high pace of work in this direction.
During the celebration, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, valuable gifts were presented to outstanding oil, gas, and geology workers, as well as other employees of the fuel and energy complex, in honor of the Day of Workers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology.
This was followed by an awards ceremony for the winners of the contests "Nebitgaz baýlygym, hazyna-genjim, Waspyň etsin diller, saňa buýsanjym" (Oil and Gas — My Treasure, My Wealth; Let the World Praise You, My Pride) and "Ruhy dünýämiziň sönmez çyragy, Ýürekleň buýsanjy dana Pyragy" (The Eternal Light of Our Spiritual World, The Pride of Our Hearts — Wise Pyragy). Winners received honorary certificates and valuable gifts. The contest for the best story, essay, article, and photo report was organized by the Trade Union Council of Turkmenistan’s Oil and Gas Industry Workers, the State Concern "Türkmengaz," and the editorial office of the "Nebit-gaz" newspaper.
At the conclusion of the event, participants addressed a letter of gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
A concert featuring the country’s performing arts masters was also held at the Cultural and Business Center of the oil and gas complex to mark the professional holiday.
