On September 19, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia (IOM) Zeynal Hajiyev at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of Turkmenistan's interaction with the IOM and joint tasks for further expansion of cooperation were outlined.
The parties noted the importance of implementing international standards on migration management into national legislation and effective implementation of migration legislation in practice.
The issues of improving and updating the contractual and legal partnership were considered.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed mutual interest in further enhancing cooperation.
