Central Asia-India Business Council” was held

On June 5, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the India - Central Asia Business Council.

During the event, views were exchanged on topical issues of partnership in the field of transport and logistical connectivity, digital economy, as well as investment opportunities in the implementation of joint projects and programs in these areas by the countries of Central Asia and India.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the activities of the Business Council. The importance of active use and expansion of the framework and experience set on the platform of this Council was also noted.

In the context of establishing energy, transport and logistics infrastructure in Central Asia, the importance of the large scale energy project Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI) was noted.

The sides also exchanged views on investment opportunities in joint transport and logistics projects in accordance with the initiatives to promote North-South transport and transit corridors.

The participants expressed interest in systemic cooperation with India in the field of innovation, in particular, in the areas of high technology, artificial intelligence, development of digital platforms.

According to the general opinion of the Business Council participants, the results of the meeting are intended to promote the attainment of concrete results for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation on a wide range.
