 
 
As part of a visit to the Republic of Lithuania, a meeting took place on October 29 between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, and his Lithuanian counterpart, Vidmantas Verbitskas.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The diplomats reviewed opportunities for organizing mutual high-level and top-level visits, which play a key role in further strengthening interstate cooperation.
The need to enhance inter-parliamentary dialogue was emphasized. In this regard, the sides discussed the possibility of holding the first meeting of the Turkmen-Lithuanian Interparliamentary Friendship Group.
The meeting also addressed issues related to expanding transport connectivity between the two countries. In this context, the Lithuanian side expressed its interest in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in the transport and logistics sector.
The diplomats also noted the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, science, sports, and tourism.
