A festive event was held in honor of International Women’s Day

On March 8, a celebratory event dedicated to International Women’s Day, widely observed in Turkmenistan in honor of the glorious daughters of our independent Motherland, took place in the ceremonial hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event was attended by representatives of the country’s leadership, ministries, agencies, and mass media.

Among the honored guests were mothers of large families, labor veterans, leading workers, activists of public organizations, scientists, cultural figures, women working in various sectors, as well as employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.

In his festive address to all compatriots, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of our independent state’s neutrality on an international level, as well as in all cities and villages of our beloved Motherland during the International Year of Peace and Trust, would further strengthen our love for the Homeland, pride in a prosperous life and a happy era, inspiring our souls.

“The Turkmen woman is the pillar of the family, the embodiment of moral beauty, and the adornment of our hearths. Respect for women and the honoring of their dignity are national traditions with a history spanning thousands of years, which are being worthily continued in the era of the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State—a democratic, legal, and secular state confidently moving forward and achieving unprecedented progress,” the head of state emphasized.

The creators of a new historical era, tireless workers, and guardians of the nation’s high spiritual values and customs, the women of our country actively participate in the life of the state and society. They work in governance bodies, across all sectors of the economy, engage in entrepreneurial activities and public work, making a significant contribution to the successes and achievements of the Motherland and the implementation of progressive reforms initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

A high level of education and professionalism, initiative, and enterprise have become integral traits of our contemporary women. Year after year, many women of the country are awarded state honors—orders and medals. On the eve of International Women’s Day, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree conferring the honorary title “Ene mähri” (Mother’s Tenderness) on mothers of large families, as well as an Order to present monetary gifts to all women of the country—workers of enterprises and institutions, those enjoying well-deserved retirement, schoolgirls, and kindergarten attendees.

Additionally, on the instructions of the head of state, keys to apartments were handed over to large families, adding to the joy of the holiday.

These wonderful celebrations underscored the unshakable spiritual values of the nation and its commitment to the ancestral sanctities of the Turkmen people, among which the woman-mother, the keeper of the family hearth, holds a special place.

Their role in preserving the spiritual and moral foundations of the nation, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and raising a harmoniously developed younger generation—the future of the country—is invaluable.

Care for motherhood and childhood, as well as the development of women’s creative and intellectual potential, have been elevated to the level of state policy in Turkmenistan, a country committed to fulfilling its obligations to protect their rights and dignity. This is exemplified by tangible steps taken in the country to develop and improve the legislative system in the field of maternal and child rights protection, the successful implementation of programs aimed at safeguarding their health, ensuring the full development of children, providing social support to large families, and much more.

The women of Turkmenistan, who feel the constant care of the state, are filled with deep gratitude to the President of the country and Hero-Arkadag for their comprehensive support, for the well-being in their family hearths, for the opportunity to realize their potential in their chosen fields, and for raising children in a peaceful, thriving Motherland.

…The warmth of numerous heartfelt congratulations and creative dedications was fully felt today by the audience at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry event, where the festive program featured performances by leading soloists and dance ensembles.

The concert opened with the literary-musical production “Berkarar döwletiň bagtyýar zenanlary” (Happy Women of a Prosperous State), featuring popular singers, the Turkmenistan State Choir, and theater artists.

This dedication celebrated the beauty of Turkmen women and those traits and qualities consistently highlighted by Arkadagly Hero Serdar and Hero-Arkadag: touching kindness, nobility of soul, loyalty, boundless love and tenderness—feelings inseparably linked to the image of our compatriots.

A wonderful gift to the audience was the song “Halkara parahatçylyk we ynanyşmak ýyly” (International Year of Peace and Trust), dedicated to the motto of 2025. It praised the large-scale efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who worthily continues the noble initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, in strengthening peace, friendship, and brotherhood worldwide.

As is well known, at Turkmenistan’s proposal, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a Resolution declaring 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” co-sponsored by 86 countries. This became a vivid expression of recognition of our Motherland’s efforts aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.

The musical-choreographic composition “Diýarymyň mähriban zenanlary” (Tender Women of My Homeland), performed by a People’s Artist and the dance ensemble of the Turkmen State Special Music School named after Danatar Ovezov at the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, was met with thunderous applause.

Lyrical and folk compositions, both well-known and new songs, ancient melodies, and foreign hits—including those in Italian, English, and Russian—resounded. In the International Year of Peace and Trust, this became a symbolic expression of unity with the global community celebrating March 8.

Today, the performers were predominantly men, showcasing their mastery. They performed works of national musical classics, popular pop and folk songs about women and for women—about happiness and loyalty, maternal love and patience, the enduring beauty of the native land, and the spring season coming into its own. All performances were accompanied by vibrant visuals.

Touching vocal pieces alternated with lively numbers, inviting the audience to dance. Amid applause and festive congratulations, songs rang out, weaving together admiration and reverence, gratitude and best wishes, infused with national melodies and lofty poetry.

The hall greeted the ancient Kushtdepdi dance with warm applause, a performance that seemed to embody the full spectrum of colors of the Turkmen spring, warming the ancient yet eternally youthful land of our beloved Motherland with its glow.

The highlight of the event was Hero-Arkadag’s participation in the ceremony via a live digital broadcast, congratulating our women on International Women’s Day.

Addressing the ceremony participants, Hero-Arkadag sincerely congratulated our dear and beloved mothers, girls, and all women on International Women’s Day, widely celebrated in our country today.

“Our beloved women and daughters are the beautiful flowers of the Homeland. Our women and girls are the stars of happiness in our homes. The Turkmen people have always regarded grandmothers and mothers as the keepers of the family hearth and family well-being. Dear women, do not forget that the Turkmen family hearth is sustained by you through your ethics and upbringing!” said Hero-Arkadag, noting that women play a crucial role in creating families, maintaining their strong foundations, ensuring the proper upbringing of children, and guiding them onto the right path in life.

As Hero-Arkadag stated, the burden and duty borne by women in life are far from light, emphasizing that it is women who must ensure the continuity of the rich heritage, moral school, and national values passed down to us by our ancestors—our grandmothers—over centuries.

“Therefore, always be guided by our noble traditions, and you will live a life full of joy and gratitude for the happiness of your family hearth! Taking this opportunity, I once again sincerely congratulate you on this wonderful spring holiday. May the smiles never fade from the faces of our beloved mothers and grandmothers, our happy girls, and dear sisters!” Hero-Arkadag wished.

The ceremony participants greeted Hero-Arkadag’s congratulations and best wishes with enthusiastic applause.

The festive event concluded with the song “Bu bagtyýar diýarda zenanlara sarpa bar” (In This Happy Land, Honor to Women), which once again conveyed heartfelt wishes of happiness to all mothers, sisters, and daughters, to all loving and beloved women who adorn the world, making it nobler and bringing harmony, the joy of creativity, and lofty aspirations.

All participants of the celebration expressed boundless gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, for the progressive transformations being carried out in the Motherland, for creating conditions for a prosperous life in a country steadfastly committed to the ideals of peace and creation.

Musical performances are taking place these days across the country—at the best concert venues in the capital, the city of Arkadag, and the velayats. These wonderful festive events, dedicated to spring and women, resonate with the spirit of the era of the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State—filled with the joy of creation and new life, the embodiment of a beautiful and kind beginning that has always nourished our faith, strength, and brightest hopes.
