On June 29, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President of Uzbekistan congratulated Hero-Arkadag on his birthday, wishing him good health, a long life, and success in his multifaceted activities for the further prosperity of the Turkmen state and the well-being of its people.
The President of the friendly country also highly praised Hero-Arkadag's efforts in strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and extended warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words and wishes, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with fraternal Uzbekistan, a close neighbor and reliable partner.
During the conversation, both sides noted with satisfaction that in recent years, the bilateral dialogue has reached a qualitatively new level and is successfully expanding in a wide range of areas.
It was noted that the relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan are characterized by openness, a high level of trust, and mutual understanding.
Our countries successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis but also within the framework of international organizations, as evidenced by their mutual support for international initiatives and proposals put forward in authoritative forums.
Trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties are also dynamically developing, and cooperation in the fields of science and education is expanding successfully. At the same time, regular and constructive dialogue has been established between the ministries and agencies of both countries.
The interlocutors also highlighted the importance of further strengthening interaction between the legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Emphasizing the special personal contribution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations — which are of strategic nature and based on the principles of good neighborliness — Hero-Arkadag thanked the head of the friendly state for his dedicated efforts.
