Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan

On December 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan, Arsen Avagyan, who presented his credentials to the Head of State.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, the diplomat conveyed heartfelt greetings to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who extended their best wishes to the entire Turkmen nation. As the Ambassador emphasized, it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, which shares longstanding relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia, based on principles of equality, mutual respect, and trust, and which have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years. Taking the opportunity, Arsen Avagyan congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state, extending wishes for peace, prosperity, well-being, and progress.

Warmly welcoming the envoy, the Head of State conveyed his best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country and congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible position, wishing him success in further strengthening the Turkmen-Armenian dialogue, which is successfully developing both bilaterally and multilaterally within the framework of reputable international organizations.

Continuing the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and the authorized representative of the friendly country noted the presence of significant untapped potential for expanding and diversifying productive ties in a wide range of areas. As was noted, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia have positive experience in cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, and demonstrate a high level of mutual understanding on pressing global agenda issues.

Among the priority areas of partnership, the parties identified the implementation of major projects in trade, the fuel and energy sector, transport, and communications, as well as exploring new opportunities to expand the range of export-import operations.

The Head of State and the Armenian envoy expressed confidence that the fruitful interstate relations, serving the interests of both countries and their fraternal peoples, would continue to develop steadily, gaining new content.

In conclusion, expressing deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the warm reception and the active attention given to strengthening Turkmen-Armenian relations, the diplomat assured that he would make every effort to further expand the traditional dialogue of friendship and productive cooperation.
