Turkmenistan stands on the threshold of an important historical milestone – the 34th anniversary of its independence. Over the years of sovereign development, the country has achieved significant success across various sectors, particularly in socio-economic development. A special place is held by the oil and gas industry, which plays a key role in ensuring the nation's economic independence.

Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy for the comprehensive development of its fuel and energy complex (FEC), aimed at integrating the country into the global energy system. Large-scale investment projects in the oil and gas sector not only strengthen the economy but also contribute to regional and global stability and security.

Blessed with abundant natural resources, Turkmenistan is actively developing cooperation with leading global oil and gas companies and financial institutions, expanding the geography of its product exports. A key element of the national energy strategy is the diversification of natural gas transportation routes, which allows for a more efficient realization of national potential and contributes to the energy security of other countries.

Turkmenistan takes an active role on the international stage in matters of energy security, emphasizing the importance of reliable, accessible, and environmentally clean energy sources for the sustainable development of all nations. These ideas have been voiced repeatedly at UN forums and have gained international support in the form of global resolutions.

Among the priority projects is the implementation of major gas pipeline initiatives that ensure the supply of energy resources to neighboring countries and foster stronger economic and political cooperation. Special attention is given to the development of pipeline infrastructure, creating a unified transport system and increasing the country’s export potential.

Another important direction is the development of domestic resource bases, the exploration of new fields, and the adoption of modern technologies for the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons. Both national and international companies participate in this process, facilitating knowledge exchange and the introduction of innovations.

At the same time, Turkmenistan is actively developing the production of high-value-added oil and gas products, expanding the range of export items while maintaining high standards of quality and environmental safety. The modernization of oil refineries and the construction of new enterprises contribute to job creation and the growth of the national economy.

The country attaches great importance to environmental protection in the development of its natural resources, the introduction of energy-saving technologies, and the promotion of renewable energy sources. This is reflected in international initiatives and specific projects aimed at reducing environmental impact and increasing the sustainability of the energy sector.

Turkmenistan actively participates in international conferences and forums where pressing issues of energy, innovation, and sustainable development are discussed. Such events help to strengthen business ties and attract investment into the national fuel and energy complex.

Particular attention is given to the participation of state oil and gas companies in the annual Exhibition of Turkmenistan’s Economic Achievements, timed to coincide with the country’s main holiday – Independence Day. This large-scale showcase, held on the eve of the significant date, demonstrates the successes of the national economy and reflects the major socio-political and cultural-humanitarian transformations taking place in the country.

The exhibition’s displays comprehensively reflect the progress of modernization and diversification across sectors of the national economy within the framework of government programs and innovative projects. The oil and gas sector occupies a special niche here. Turkmenistan is known to be among the world’s leading countries in terms of hydrocarbon reserves. In this context, the development of the oil and gas industry is given great importance as one of the foundational sectors of the economy. This year’s exhibition prominently showcased the country’s achievements in this area. At the stands of the state concerns “Türkmengaz,” “Türkmennebit,” and the State Corporation “Türkmengeologiýa,” the growth dynamics of hydrocarbon extraction and processing, as well as samples of manufactured products, were presented.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasizes that the oil and gas sector is the foundation of the country’s economic stability and prosperity. In this regard, projects to expand export routes and develop production remain a focal point of state policy.

On the eve of this significant date, the country looks to the future with confidence, building on its achievements in the energy sector and striving for new heights in ensuring economic independence and sustainable development. Workers in the oil and gas industry, as an essential part of the national workforce, celebrate the holiday with pride and a readiness to continue working for the benefit of the Motherland and its people.
