There has been a steady increase in the cost of “black gold” in the world market lately. It is considered that this increase is a consequence of an increase in demand for crude oil and refined products.
The State Concern “Turkmennebit” is the largest industrial and economic complex engaged in oil production in Turkmenistan. At present time the concern operates about three dozen fields, located on land, from which oil is collected and sent for processing, and then delivered to consumers in the form of finished products. In order to increase the production of crude oil, which is an important component of the country’s economic growth, the concern is carrying out large-scale work to introduce multi-purpose innovative solutions into production.
Consistent implementation of the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2019-2025”, and also the “National program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052: Revival of a new era of a sovereign state”, which define comprehensive strategic goals and the tasks of each of the spheres of state development for the next 30 years, will give a powerful impetus to further improve social and living conditions, and also ensure a happy and prosperous life for the population. These adopted programs, along with socio-economic aspects, also provide for aspects of the development of the country's oil and gas sector.
As it is known, one of the main directions of development of the industry is to strengthen its raw material base. In this regard, in order to increase the volume of existing commercial oil reserves at the “Uzynada” site located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, the Concern's specialists drilled several exploratory wells with a depth of more than 7000 meters (considered the deepest in the region) and obtained a large inflow of condensate from admixture of oil and natural gas. Exploration wells are currently being drilled.
The Concern plans to carry out appropriate work to search for and develop new productive reservoirs and deposits located on sites in the continental part of Western Turkmenistan such as South Garadashly, North Ekerem, South Atjan, Aydogdy, Batgalyer, Kalaus, South Bennuvan, Garmar, Khasardag, South Asham, Chukurchi, South Korpeje and Nogai in order to increase the volume of resources of industrial value of crude oil, gas and condensate.
A significant reduction in the duration of drilling new exploration and development wells and an increase in their performance, the transfer of production wells and wells with gradually declining productivity to more efficient mechanical methods, and also the high-quality implementation of complex underground and capital works at wells temporarily not operated for various reasons is achieved through the introduction of more efficient, innovative equipment, methods, various chemical solutions and advanced technologies into production.
Also, the relevant work is underway to develop productive strata in the shallow waters of the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea by drilling horizontal and inclined wells. The specialists of the concern together with specialists from neighboring Azerbaijan are also actively involved in the development of the “Dostluk” oil and gas field, which is located between the two states in the Caspian Sea.
Thanks to the comprehensive support from the state, the concern is working to acquire the necessary funds by holding a tender for the purchase of a total of 16 sets of high-quality, modern equipment XJ-450 and XJ-650 manufactured by the People's Republic of China, and also other equipment. With the use of new equipment and advanced technologies, the concern will soon be able to carry out more complex underground and major repairs at temporarily idle wells subject to abandonment.
In order to successfully solve the tasks, set for the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan, and also increase the productivity of oil wells through the introduction of modern technologies and special equipment into production, the “Turkmennebit” Group of Companies was permitted to enter into a contract with PJSC “Tatneft” of the Republic of Tatarstan on the provision of services to increase the flow rate of oil wells at the Goturdepe oil and gas field, conclude, in the prescribed manner, an additional agreement on the provision of services at least 550 oil wells at the Goturdepe oil and gas field.
The State Concern “Turkmennebit”, developing and settling new productive strata and fields through the development of the oil industry and the introduction of modern innovative solutions in oil production, successfully implements the tasks set to strengthen the country's resource base, and as a result of timely drilling and commissioning of new high-quality wells, carries out comprehensive measures to maintain and increase the required volumes of gas and crude oil with condensate.
