Drillers from the “Ekerem” Drilling Operations Directorate of the “Nebitgazburawlaýyş” Trust under the State Concern “Türkmennebit” are dedicating the International Year of Peace and Trust to high labor achievements and are preparing a worthy work-related gift for the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. In the first five months of this year, the Ekerem resource seekers successfully drilled 19,500 meters underground. What makes this result particularly significant is that a large portion of the total depth was for operational (production) use. They have successfully completed the drilling of two wells during this period.

Under the leadership of Hajymämmet Arazmämmedow, the drilling team successfully completed the operational well No. 356 at the North Goturdepe field and achieved an industrial flow of "black gold" (oil). This well, handed over to the Goturdepenebit Oil and Gas Production Directorate, was drilled using the "Uralmash-3D" rig from the Russian Federation. The drillers also recently completed well No. 7 at the Shatut field.

The team proudly highlights that the recent introduction of high-power drilling rigs into production has played a positive role in achieving such impressive results. “The consistent support of our Hero-Arkadag President for the oil and gas sector has a decisive impact on our achievements. At our directorate, technical supervision is firmly established at every productive well. Since the beginning of this year, we have successfully fulfilled our work plan,” the specialists noted.

A substantial contribution to these labor achievements was made by master drillers Maksat Jumayev, Ata Handurdyyev, Meretmuhammet Muhamov, Resul Berdyev, Myrat Nyyazov, and Sahetweli Durdyyew. Thanks to the consistent state support for the oil and gas industry — one of the key sectors of Turkmenistan’s national economy — local specialists confidently master the most powerful imported rigs. Today, Turkmen drillers are actively working to reach deeper formations at the Uzynada, North Goturdepe, Shatut, Akpatlawuk, Porsy, South Gamyshlyja, North Ekerem, Keymir, and Ekerem fields.

Currently, they are conducting final drilling works on new well No. 101 at the Ekerem field. “We plan to hand it over to oil producers in the coming days,” said Arslan Annaesenov, Head of the Ekerem Drilling Directorate.
