The events of the International Year of Peace and Trust clearly demonstrate the practical implementation of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy — the status of Permanent Neutrality — in advancing international economic cooperation, particularly in the strategic oil and gas sector of the national economy.
As a sovereign state capable of implementing large-scale projects independently and in partnership, Turkmenistan has established close ties with dozens of countries, major foreign companies with advanced technologies, financial institutions, and international organizations in the energy sector. This, in turn, has significantly expanded the country's export capabilities and strengthened its position in global energy markets.
In this context, it is appropriate to recall several major forums held this spring in Turkmenistan and abroad. Most notably, on April 23–24, the TEIF 2025 International Forum on attracting foreign investment into Turkmenistan’s economy was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It became a significant event on the agenda of global energy cooperation.
At the end of April, participants of a special session of the international conference “Ensuring Quality in Turkmenistan in Accordance with International Standards”, held in Ashgabat, examined in detail the opportunities for international cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in the certification of energy complexes.
This spring, the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) actively presented Turkmenistan’s petroleum industry export potential at exhibitions held in various parts of the world.
In this regard, it is worth highlighting Turkmenistan's participation in the “EXPO 2025” World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan. Within the framework of Turkmenistan’s National Day, various petrochemical products from TCOR attract significant attention from visitors. The refinery produces gasoline, aviation and technical kerosene, jet and diesel fuel, fuel oil, lubricants, polypropylene, furnace fuel, gas oil, petroleum coke, liquefied gas, construction and road bitumen, sulfur, synthetic detergents, and more.
From May 5 to 7, a large-scale exhibition of Turkmen-made products was held in Gorgan, Iran, where TCOR products were also featured.
Additionally, from May 13 to 18, high-quality TCOR products exported to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East were showcased at the “Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”, the XVI International Economic Forum held in Kazan.
On June 5, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference TESC 2025, titled “Environmental Aspects of Applying Innovative Technologies in Hydrocarbon Field Development”, will take place in Ashgabat. This event will once again turn the Turkmen capital into a center for international energy dialogue. It is organized in cooperation with “Türkmen Energiýa Forum” and supported by the state concerns “Türkmennebit”, “Türkmengaz”, and the state corporation “Türkmengeologiýa.”
TESC 2025 is not only a prestigious conference but also a strategic platform for dynamic exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, innovative practices, and advanced technologies. Against the backdrop of climate and technological changes, it will help outline the path for sustainable development of Turkmenistan’s energy sector.
With vast energy resources and among the global leaders in hydrocarbon reserves, Turkmenistan continues to attract growing international interest. This is the result of its Open Door Policy, equal and mutually beneficial intergovernmental relations, and international initiatives to ensure global energy security.
